Photography is the story I fail to put into words.

I love spring! The awakening of the earth after a long winter's nap brings me such joy! I am always in awe as I see the birds coming back from their migration, the daffodils and tulips as they make their way through the hard ground, the blossoms as they burst open on my trees, and the smell of fresh rain that hightens my senses. There's nothing that I can think of that rivals spring!
I love exploring the world each spring time, but this year with COVID and quarantine, it wasn't possible to go on adventures outside as much or as far as I usually do. I was going stir-crazy in not being able to get out, and that's when I decided I needed to do a nature project close to home--so I could find some serenity while never leaving. Of course, my camera and yard had to be part of the project, but I decided to make a couple more parameters to accomplish this task: video and my Lensbaby Edge 50. The Edge 50 easily converts between macro and landscape modes, so I could capture a bit of both. It was the perfect little lens to keep on my camera for this project. Over the course of a week, I went outside and captured the blooms and blossoms of different flowers as they made their appearances.; Here's a look at my final product of the serenity I found in one week of April in my yard. I hope you enjoyed a little slice of serenity in my yard! The Serenity Project is done with some of my photography friends, so continue through the circle to see how they found serenity in their neck of the woods! Gorgeous nature in your back yard! Thanks for sharing with us. Stay safe.
Wow Emuly! You have some amount of blossom trees in your yard. So beautiful to watch the sun peeking through the stems of the flowers and the flowers swaying in the breeze. I could sit on a bench and soak in such scenes for hours. Very peaceful to watch and listen to. 5/21/2020 10:47:01 am
Nice video Emily, the added motion made the flowers so peaceful.

I loved this film! I love that you did it with a LB! What a brilliant idea. That makes sense why the light looked so amazing. Thank you for sharing all that beauty in your own backyard. It must smell amazing. Comments are closed.
