Photography is the story I fail to put into words.

It's been entirely too long since I have participated in the Serenity Project with some of my friends. I've missed it terribly, and my life has been crazy with homeschooling my four boys this year, so I made myself get outside with my camera in hand to find my serenity! This last week, I put my 100mm macro on my camera, my coat on my body and my gloves on my hands so I could go look for something to macro in the balmy 20 degree weather. ;) Here's one flower--a daisy, long past prime--in two different ways with different lighting. It was my small moment of serenity, so I hope you enjoy it! Find more images of serenity by continuing through the blog circle! Next up is the talented Nadeen Flynn Photography, northern California Fine Art Photography.

I always think there's something quite beautiful about dying flowers! 11/21/2018 03:35:41 pm
Emily, home-schooling four boys must not leave you much time for yourself. It's important to find those moments. I think too, like Janet, that dying flowers are beautiful and poetic. I love how you captured different views of the flower.

I'm so glad you had time to contribute this month. I think you probably need serenity more than ever now that you are homeschooling your boys. Good for you! I love the expired flower you discovered - I'm always intrigued by the patterns and shapes their petals make when dried. You found some lovely light to showcase them.

Love these, Emily! 11/29/2018 08:14:37 pm
Cold dead flowers are something no one appreciates until a good photographer comes along. Love your photos Emily. Comments are closed.
